Mrs Skidmore's Weekly Challenge!

One of the activities I have missed most since lockdown, has been my weekly group reading sessions with Year Six. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing Ian Serrailliers ‘Silver Sword,’ which was my favourite book when I was their age. As a child I was an avid reader and I also loved Roald Dahl, Susan Coolidge and Enid Blyton (I always wanted to go to Mallory Towers!) so perhaps it was inevitable that I became a teacher. So I do hope that during this time at home you have been able to share lots of stories with your child/ren. For my weekly challenge this week why not send in a picture / book review / model / or your own idea and share your favourite story or book with me!

  Mrs Skidmore's Lego Challenge!

The Lego challenge was inspired by Sebastian in Year 3, who built a Lego model and then created a film. I am sure like me; lots of you have Lego (or Duplo) at home so my challenge was follow:

Choose a Bible Story – (and there are plenty to choose from!) and recreate it in Lego!

If you are really talented, like Seb you could make a movie and retell the story.
