Y5/Y6 Arthog Residential Visit 29th February to Friday 4th March

Year 5 and Year 6 are eagerly awaiting their residential school visit to Arthog in Wales. The countdown has begun with children heading off on Monday 29th February to enjoy the adventure of a lifetime for a whole week away from home returning home on Friday 4th March. Watch the Gallery space for new images soon!

Below are the blog entries during the Residential stay. Don't forget there are some lovely images to browse in our Galleries.

29th February 2016

After an exciting journey from Albrighton, we arrived at Arthog for about 12.15pm. We settled down to a nice lunch of sandwiches and fruit and then split into our groups for team building activities which included low ropes, trust activities and climbing walls. After a lovely dinner we split into two groups and did some orienteering and a very cold night-walk. We finished the evening with hot chocolates and our new Arthog diaries!

1st March 2016

Despite the storm blowing all night, we had a beautiful day today! We began with a hearty breakfast (sausages and eggs, yum) and then split into our groups for our daily activities. Our activities included water sports, a source to sea walk, Barmouth study and rock climbing. We were lucky enough for the sun to come out for the afternoon and most of us enjoyed our lunch looking over the picturesque estuary towards Barmouth town. Again, we finished our evening with orienteering, night walks and a steaming cup of hot chocolate and biscuits. A fantastic day, cannot wait for tomorrow!

2nd March 2016

We all started the morning with porridge, Welsh Rarebit and beans.  Everyone had had a good nights sleep so set us up for the day ahead.  A soon as we jumped in the mini buses the heavens opened and the wind howled round.  This didn't last long though, and before long we were all fully engrossed in our daily activities.  After our roast dinner this evening they were all in for a treat.  NIGHTLINE!  The children, in groups had to do an obstacle coarse blindfolded and in the mud.  You could hear the laughs, all round the field from the adults and children.  Afterwards the children got hosed down to remove the mud (I had great fun doing this).

3rd March 2016

After a very yummy breakfast consisting of; bacon, hash brown and spaghetti hoops, we plodded off to our daily activities! Lucky enough the sun joined us all day and followed us back to Arthog, then it rained!! After our lovely chicken burgers and apple pie we completed the photo search. Now the fun beings.... PACKING!!
